Everything you need to know!

Hello friends and family! Hopefully by now everyone has gotten their
invitations! We really hope that everyone can come, but we are completely
aware that times are tough right now and that we are getting married at
a terrible time. We will not be offended in the least if anyone cannot make
it...but we hope you all can. We will also be having a casual reception
at our house a couple of weeks after we get back into town.
We want to make sure that you have all the information that you
need about the hotel, travel, etc., so here is what we know...
We are getting married at Me Cancun and also staying there
during our stay. We have reserved some rooms there for our guests,
but no one is obligated to stay there. To make hotel reservations you
can either call toll free (01)8666.409.686 or
email bookmecancun@solmelia.com. The group rate for a standard
room is $105/night. For a third person in the room, they charge an
extra $70. You can also upgrade to an ocean view for an extra $20.
You can also upgrade to "the level" or loft suites for an extra cost.
Those prices are valid between Septmember 7-15.If you want to check
out the hotel, the website is www.me-cancun.com.
For those of you that have not been to Cancun, it is very easy to travel
around. Once you land in the airport...there is taxis and shuttles galore
that will take you straight to the hotel. If you need to travel from hotel
to hotel, or get to a restaurant, taxis are always available and a bus comes
by every 10 min or so that can take you anywhere you need to go.
There is lots to do including snorkeling, jet skiing, seeing the ruins,
or laying by the pool. The hotel has a great concierge that can help you
plan out anything that you may want to do.
Everyone should probably know that this will be a casual wedding...
no tuxes or fancy dresses. We just want everyone to be comfortable and
have a great time. This is all we know for now, but we will continue to
update our blog with any new information that we may have.
We love you all and cannot wait to celebrate with you. It is going to be
a great time, we are sure! If anyone has any questions you are always
welcome to call or email either of us. We hope to see you in Cancun!

Viva Mexico!

So, we finally got out to Cancun to check out the hotel. It is really beautiful!  Cancun is a pretty weird place. We had never been before....so we weren't really sure what it would be like.  It is not really the kind of place that you get authentic Mexican food. Instead, you have Chili's, Starbucks, Outback Steakhouse, ect. Kind of lame, but no big deal. The point is to be there together on a beautiful beach and enjoy the weather. Plus, there is no more time to change our minds about anything! :)
The hotel that we chose is called Me Cancun. We are reserving 15 hotel rooms at the group rate that they quoted us. We are certainly able to up that number if necessary! We didn't want to reserve too many rooms in case people wanted to stay at a different hotels on the strip. There are TONS of hotels and they are all just a quick bus ride away. Me Cancun is not an all-inclusive resort. Sorry! It is worth it though! They have really good food at our hotel...and we heard some bad things about the food at some of the all-inclusive places. It is always about the food! It has got to be good!
The hotel is going to start a personal web page where you can reserve rooms and get information about the hotel. It should be easy, and it should be fun!
You should be receiving invites fairly soon! Keep an eye out!

KEEPING EVERYONE IN THE LOOP

So, even though it is comon knowledge that I am technologically retarted...I am going to attempt to use this blog thing in order to keep everone in the loop about our lives, and more importantly...the wedding!

For those of you who don't know already, Bryan and I got engaged on his birthday, February 8. It was a shock to me! He asked me in front of our closest friends at Four Peaks (one of our favorite restaurant/breweries that we spend a lot of time at). It was awesome!

We have set a date of September 12, 2009. We have found a beautiful hotel in Cancun, Mexico where we plan to marry with our closest friends and family. I am pretty sure that it is going to be a really great time! Before anyone runs out and buys plane tickets though...do know that we have not officially signed a contract with the hotel.

After we have the wedding in Mexico, we are planning on having a party here in Phoenix! It will just be a casual party at our house so we can celebrate with everyone! We can't wait!

A combination of business and laziness has prevented us from getting too far in our planning. We promise to get things rolling soon though! We promise!
